Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to You as police wives, knowing how easily our thankfulness wavers with changing circumstances. We are grateful when shifts end safely, but we are frustrated when plans change unexpectedly.
Lord, Your Word guides us: “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”(1 Thessalonians 5:18)
We recognize this isn’t being thankful FOR everything, but finding something to be grateful for IN everything. Even in the unpredictable nature of law enforcement life, Your blessings remain constant.
Today, we choose an attitude of gratitude:
- For officers who serve with courage and commitment
- For the moments we do have together, however brief
- For the strength You provide when we must stand alone
- For the law enforcement family that understands our journey
- For Your protection over our officers each day
Holy Spirit, open our eyes to see beyond missed dinners and rescheduled celebrations. Help us notice the hidden gifts within our challenges.
May we embrace thankfulness as our daily practice, not just a seasonal sentiment. Let gratitude be the foundation that steadies us through every season of this law enforcement life, anchoring our hearts in Your goodness no matter what challenges we face.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
