TAKE UP FAITH
“In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.” Ephesians 6:16
The moment you first believed you stepped onto the scene of the spiritual battle and the enemy began launching his fiery arrows directly at you. The enemy wants to cause you to doubt and question the goodness, grace and love of Jesus. But God didn’t leave you defenseless. As a member of God’s army, God provided a shield to take up – the shield of faith. Taking up the shield is a choice and it requires action.
How do you take up the shield of faith? It’s acting like God is telling the truth by matching your walk with your talk and living out your faith with the movement of your feet. It’s not living by sight or by emotion but by the truth of God and His Word. When you feel the force of enemy arrows coming towards, you can stand firm holding up faith by trusting in God, obeying His Word and walking in faith.
REFLECT
Sit with this verse for a moment. Contemplate your personal need for a shield remembering a shield is a form of protection. A defensive piece of equipment that deflects, guards and blocks one from enemy attack. What fiery arrows do you need protection from? What’s stopping you from holding up your faith?
