Dear Heavenly Father,

Today, we come before You as women who understand what it means to be vigilant. As police wives, we’ve learned to be watchful, guarded, and careful in this world. We’ve trained ourselves to scan for threats, sit with our backs to the wall, and be selective about who we let into our inner circles.

Lord, we confess that sometimes, these necessary precautions in our earthly lives have crept into our spiritual lives. We admit that we struggle to fully trust You with all of our hearts when worry for our officers fills our minds or doubt about our marriages weighs heavy in our hearts.

Father, help us to lean completely on You—both with our emotions and our intellect. Just as our bodies surrender fully to our beds at night, teach us to rest the full weight of our concerns on You. When anxiety tempts us to take back control, remind us that in You is the safest place to be.

We pray for the courage to release our tight grip on worry. When we try to understand everything happening in our officers’ world, remind us that Your perspective is higher. When we mentally rehearse worst-case scenarios, help us to rehearse Your promises instead.

For each sister reading this prayer, Lord, reveal the specific ways being a police wife has hindered her ability to trust You with her whole heart. Then, show her how to surrender those barriers one by one.

Thank You for understanding our unique struggles. Thank You for being completely trustworthy even when—especially when—we don’t fully understand Your ways.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
