Let’s be real – police wives and significant others face unique challenges. Fear of “the” knock at the door, single parenting syndrome, loneliness, cultural tensions, politics, and harassment can leave law enforcement wives fighting for their peace of mind. But just like our husbands suit up every day to fight crime, we can “get dressed” for the battles of life.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE FOR A WELL-KNOW SCRIPTURE – As a Christian, studying the armor of God is always interesting; however, J.J. Gutierrez’s latest book takes it in a completely new direction. As a police wife, I’m accustomed to my husband’s gear. As a Christian, I know what my gear, or armor, is and how to use it. What makes this study different is Gutierrez’s first- hand knowledge of both, and she so wittingly intertwines the two. By the end of the book, she has helped me to see where my armor was thin and has encouraged time and spiritual growth with my husband. She is funny and sometimes raw, yet she’s not afraid to address the serious topics with you. This book is a wonderful study on taking up our armor of God as Christians and police wives.
