Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today as police wives, acknowledging that sometimes our independent spirits make it hard for us to release our burdens to You. Your Word promises, “Give all your cares and worries to God, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7), and we claim that truth today.
Lord, we confess that too often we try to carry everything ourselves. We’ve whispered “I can do this” when really, we need to whisper “Jesus, take this.”
Thank You because You don’t just tell us to give You our burdens – You eagerly wait to receive them. Thank You for showing that Your care for us is personal, constant, and complete. Help us exchange our independence for dependence on You. Show us how to transfer our anxieties from our hearts to Your capable hands.
We pray specifically for the burdens we carry today. For the wife lying awake waiting for her officer to come home, for the mother trying to explain to her children why Daddy missed another event, and for the veteran police wife wrestling with resentment over the toll this calling has taken, we give these cares to You.
May we experience the freedom that comes from truly releasing our worries to You. Let us feel Your presence, Your peace, and Your care in tangible ways today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
